Sudo is a short-hand term based on the name of a Linux command that means ‘super user do,’ which is used to obtain elevated privileges when running a command. In EOSIO, 15 of 21 Block Producers can sign a transaction on behalf of a user. To simplify this process, a sudo contract was created to reduce the amount of individual steps needed to coordinate amongst the Block Producers. It has been deployed to the network under the account eosio.wrap.
